With Fourth of July coming up this next week, we wanted pay homage with a recipe for an amazing red, white, and blue smoothies that will set you up for a healthy, delicious and energized Independence Day! This recipe is packed with skin benefits. Greek Yogurt is one of the best foods to eat for clear skin, and detoxify your pores. Berries are filled with antioxidants and Vitamin C which gives your radiant skin and healthy hair. Almond Milk is full of Vitamin E, which has an anti-aging quality as it is another antioxidant and contains Elastin.
INDEPENDENCE DAY SMOOTHIES RECIPE
Layers
1/3 frozen banana
1/2 C strawberries
1/4 C greek yogurt
1/4 C unsweetened almond milk
White Layers
1/3 frozen banana
2 Tbps. unsweetened coconut flakes
1/4 C greek yogurt
1/4 C unsweetened almond milk
Blue Layers
1/3 frozen banana
1/2 C blueberries
1/4 C greek yogurt
1/4 C unsweetened almond milk
For best results, put your glass in the freezer for 5 minutes. You’ll want to blend each layer separately in a high blender, then pour, one layer at a time, into your glass and re-freeze the glass for 5 minutes again allowing the smoothie layer to thicken before adding the next layer. Another option is to serve your smoothies in glasses by the flavor to have a variety of red, white and blue!
