Students Planning for Fall

Posted on: July 12th, 2017

As we are halfway through summer now, many of you may be wondering what your next chapter will be come fall. At USTA, registration is open for upcoming fall programs both in massage therapy or aesthetics. We thought it would be great to share some goal-setting tips as your next chapter will be unfolding next month!

Goal Setting Tips for Fall Programs/Semester

Organization – Begin organizing yourself both at home and life. This can be little things like cleaning out drawers and closets, meal plan your week, and planning weekly activities. You will set yourself up for success the fall should you have the details of life organized beforehand.

Finance – Goal setting in finance can begin with daily decisions like a Starbucks latte, super-sizing a meal, or buying a new pair of shoes. This will help you this fall as you take on the costs with becoming a student, and you’ll feel confident knowing how to set weekly and monthly money goals.

Time-Management – Time is one of the most important tools for students. As you prepare for fall, begin by planning your week out with daily to-do’s, weekly commitments and seeing the free-time available to plan fun time with friends. Your fall will go much smoother and you will have less chance of procrastination and stress. Developing good time-management skills will help you later in life.

S.M.A.R.T – (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Results-Focused, Time-Bound) An example of this is writing a new personal statement for yourself that you will be able to evaluate, review how it’s being achieved, with clear outcomes listed and timeframes. You’ll be able to use this type of goal-setting later with projects, work and many aspects of life.

Your body and mind will be set to begin this fall should you follow these goal-setting tips. Here at USTA, we look forward to helping train and guide you into a successful career in either massage therapy or aesthetics.
